CFAP Speaking Engagements
CFAP Founder Patricia Smith has presented to live audiences extensively since 2002, working with organizations and businesses across the country from all of the helping professions. She has provided compassion fatigue awareness presentations, resources, and consulting to thousands of caregivers working in animal welfare, veterinary medicine, mental and behavioral health, healthcare, biomedical research, social work, education, law enforcement, chaplaincy, elder care, and many others.
Patricia's in-person speaking engagements range from conference keynote presentations to audiences of 250+ attendees to multi-day training events and workshops lasting from 2-6 hours each day. She also now offers a live virtual webinar presentation covering the same material and resources. Her basic presentation includes defining compassion fatigue, its symptoms and causes, and strategies to promote wellness. Resources are also included encouraging participants to expand and deepen their knowledge of compassion fatigue, stress, and burnout.
Patricia has also provided commentary for numerous podcasts and articles, and is available for interview. As the author of five books on the subject of compassion fatigue, stress, and burnout, she is also available to write articles for publications, short pieces for newsletters, and create written content for other health-related resources.

**Since March 2020, when Covid-19 was officially labeled a global pandemic and travel restrictions were put in place, all of Patricia's in-person workshops, keynotes, and trainings have been reimagined and rescheduled as webinars. This shift to virtual presentations has proven successful and we are continuing to provide the opportunity to continue to raise awareness and connect as a community, even when members of your organization are working remotely. The current comprehensive Powerpoint webinar presented live, but virtually, provides participants with the same content as an in-person presentation in half the time and at less cost to your organization. Going forward, Patricia’s speaking engagements will in many cases be offered as a choice of in-person presentation or live webinar.**
